Recent Victory Highlights
Our recent highlights from our victory blog include a reversal in a sex offense case and a search and seizure victory.
In People v. Urbina, no. A118420, the defendant was convicted of multiple lewd and lascivious acts against children under the age of 14. The Court of Appeal found that Evidence Code section 1108 did apply to evidence of an alleged prior molestation, but that the trial court had prejudicial erred under Evidence Code section 352 by admitting the challenged evidence. In In re T.C., no. A120235, a true finding on an allegation that a juvenile had committed receiving stolen property was reversed because the Court of Appeal found that the police had not had reasonable suspicion to conduct a patsearch for weapons.
